The Scam of the "official" letters related to Patents and Trademarks (Community, international, etc.)

Increasingly CTM holders who receive letters that appear to be official but are not. In most cases the letter received seems a bill for some services provided (publication, renewal, including a record) but if you read more closely is the supply of that service. This is certainly a useless service without any official character. Therefore from World Patent and Trademark recommend to consult their patent and trademark agents on the veracity of the letter received and NEVER proceed to pay the "apparent" bill. WIPO has published a list of such false letters "scam" or you can visit here.

The service offered is usually the inclusion of the CTM property in a catalog, registry, official publication of Community trade marks. This register, catalog, publishing false and totally unnecessary.

Another common example is the renewal of the CTM. This type of service, if it is lawful, is generally much more expensive than the cost of the renewal of the CTM and what the agent with whom you work, for example Volartpons, we will charge for it.
