How to patent / protect an invention in Colombia?
Many inventors, Colombians or foreigners are wondering how to protect your invention in Colombia. The answer is by applying for a patent in Colombia. To patent an invention in Colombia the invention has to be new, be inventive (not obvious on the known) and must be able to be produced. The patent is the only way for the inventor obtains exclusive right to his invention and so to prevent others from taking advantage of it without his consent. In order to patent your invention we recommend that you contact an industrial property agent to help you draft the patent document so no one can take advantage of your creation.
